Welcome! I’m Akemi!

Hi, I’m Akemi! I’m a documentary-style photographer who loves to capture your special events or a new take on your visual identity. I offer portrait sessions, events, elopements and family shoots.

I’m based in Los Angeles but you can often find me traveling, whether I’m out camping and hiking, or flying around the globe, travel is a passion and I love capturing amazing sights. 

Unusual or off-the-beaten-path adventures, natural wonders of the world, and deep cultural experiences are what float my boat. 

So far I’ve been to 25 countries around the world! I’m not really here for the numbers though, but it’s a fun statistic that I almost couldn’t believe. 

I travel to go deep. I try to learn some of the language, to meet people who live there, to learn about the history and reasons why things are the way they are. I love getting the deeper story, the stuff people don’t talk about.
